shai
The website is starting to act funny.
Nyerguds
Looks like you can't use filenames with spaces in tags. It cuts them off after the first space, unless you specifically replace all spaces with "%20"
Gobalopper
I am talking to the hosting company about moving our MySQL server to the same data center as the web server. It looks to be the cause of some of the errors we've been having. Nyerguds can you post an example url inside a [ code ] block so I have an example? Thanks. Mahdi
I found it was down a lot the last couple weeks - the entire site not just the forums.
Gobalopper
About a week or two ago they moved the web server to their new data center and that was when the problems started. Now that the database server has been moved as well it should go back to normal. Hopefully. :)
shai
Some new posts to topics are appearing in between previous posts.
Gobalopper
Can you provide examples of where it is happening?
shai
http://forum.dune2k.com/topic/19636-dune2k-high-resolution/page-16A post by katarn8. I got the notification at 12:01 PM (-05:00 time zone) but it says it was posted at 6:56 AM and did not appear until 12:01. This is not the first time I've seen it happen. Gobalopper
So you're saying you got a notification of a new post before the post was visible? If the user is new their first post needs to be approved by a moderator before showing up. This is done to prevent spammers.
Andrew
Probably due to having first post to be approved by moderator.
X3M
If the user is new their first post needs to be approved by a moderator before showing up. This is done to prevent spammers. Are new users aware of this? It could be that some (most) quit after not seeing their own post.It isn't there in the forum guidelines to warn people. I suggest adding a new FAQ as well to reinforce the new guideline.* Why can't I see my own posts?-> If the user is new, their first post needs to be approved by a moderator before showing up. Andrew
It should state it during the signup process. At least that's what other forums do. Gob should know.
Gobalopper
You see a message above the post box, it looks like the attached image.
X3M
Ok, it happened twice now. Maybe more. Some one liked my post. But I can't seem to find which one. Of course I know the thread by clicking the link. But it does not say which post. Normally it was visible on the post itself if someone liked it. Edit:Well, the link does direct me to the supposedly liked post? shai
I think it's happening for everyone.
Gobalopper
Can someone send an email of what the message used to look like and what it looks like now? Use gobalopper@dune2k.com.
shai
It's not displaying who liked a post. It used to say next to the like button.
Gobalopper
X3M mentioned he clicked a link though. Viewing who liked a post should work now but I don't know about the link part.
X3M
The link always worked. And still works. I was talking about these 2: The first arrow shows the actually post. While the second arrow only directs you to the thread. You are good in fixing things. Gobalopper
The forum now fully supports https and all the links should be updated to use the new secured approach. Let me know if you run into any problems.
