What's tuesday without CoD news?

To start with, Scifi.com has set up an online chat with Brian Herbert for March 11. Here's what they have to say about it:

Brian Herbert talks about his novels and his new biography of his father, Dreamer of Dune. The chat is moderated by editor extraordinaire Gardner Dozois, winner of 13 Hugo Awards.

Connect your IRC software client to events.scifi.com and join channel #auditorium to participate. Chatters with Java-capable browser may use our Java chat client.

Next, the scifi channel is also set to release a commemerative card set based on the first miniseries. Once again, here's what scifi.com has to say about it:

Rittenhouse Archives presents Frank Herbert's Dune: The Mini-Series Commemorative Set, a limited-edition, 54-card set based on the successful mini-series. This will include 50 movie cards with two photos per card, plot synopsis, and memorable quotes. Also included are two authentic costume cards from costumes worn by William Hurt as Duke Leto Atreides and Giancarlo Giannini as Emperor Shaddam IV and a hand-signed autograph card from Alec Newman as Paul Atreides. Collectors will also receive a custom-designed album in which to store the cards. This comes with an exclusive promotional card and plastic pages to hold the entire set. There will be only 999 sets issued. See www.scifihobby.com for more information.

Back to the topic of online chats, FED2k's CoD chats have now been set in stone for 11 pm EST on March 16, 17, and 18. Officially they will be lasting for one hour, however you are free to join the chat before 11 if you want to discuss CoD as it happens and remain in the chat room as long as you like. Transcripts will be posted the day following each chat. We are currently talking to a couple people in the entertainment industry about joining the chats as special guests to give us their "profesional" opinions of the miniseries. Last but not least (and I am sorry I wasn't able to post this until now, however it has been in the CoD Countdown Thread for a few days now) those of you living in Canada may have noticed that every sunday in February Space is showing an episode of the miniseries and are airing the Lynch film on the last sunday, which gives me the impression that they may be leading up to something.
