Caid Ivik
From which line descended Atreides? From Orestes or Electra? Or Iphigenia?
nemafakei
Orestes, I think. The curse of Atreus was supposedly lifted when he killed Clytemnestra and Aegisthus, but this was questioned in one of the Dune books.
AlteaDeo
woa...Atreus was Agamenmon's father... Clytemnestra was Ag's wife.I should read the iliad again, but, logicly, the aTReides are coming from Atreus, but started with Ag's and Clyt's childs, no?Because, I think Ag's only had child with Clytemnestra.... AlteaDeo
well, why not saying that the Atreides are coming from Atreus then? less complicated... :)
Dante
Um, not to interupt the discussion or anything (which it probably is :-[ ) What if the second Leto had survived? Not Ghanima's twin, nor Muad'dib's father, the one killed by Sardaukar.
AlteaDeo
woaw! ;) good question actually ;)

Dante
Well done. But would he have gone on to do the same things Leto II (brother of Ghanima) did?
Acriku
I thought the Leto killed by the Sardaukar was Muad'Dib's father? Paul Atreides' father...
Lord J
A few spoilers here, if you haven't read the books:There are (at least) three Letos (is that correct pluralization?) in Dune. Leto, father of Paul Muad'Dib Atreides, killed by poison gas tooth when captured by Baron Harkonnen. Leto, first son of Paul Atreides, killed by Harkonnen (I think) soldiers in thier attack upon Paul's seitch. Leto II, Paul's second son, became God Emperor of Dune and died through Ixian betreyal. Anathema
Remember the hide tags![hide]Almost correct, but Pauls firstborn son was killed by Sardaukars ;). The same guys that kidnapped Alia. And the God Emperor Leto II died by treason from Duncan.[/hide]

Mahdi
of course, it's more than posible that over the, what, 30,000 years between them and Dune that the two blood liens came into contact once more.
