After the invention of hyperspace jumps in 2147, humans spread across the entire galaxy and colonised hundreds of worlds. Almost 2000 years later, the humans are spread across over 700 planets across the galaxy. Currently there are 147 different factions, most of them relatively unimportant. War rages continuously among some of them, and not a year goes past without the fall and rise of a single nation. The balance of power shifts continously, territories shift from banner to banner and alliances are formed and broken.

Earth, the homeworld of mankind, is no longer habitable. In 3424 it was swept by a nuclear war, eradicating the entire population. A convention in 3427 put a ban on all nuclear weapons as a result. Now the year is 3975.

The rules are simple. No mass destruction weapons are allowed. A faction is not allowed to possess more then 50 planets, and I’m limiting the allowed number of warships to 10,000, as hyperspace jumps are extremely expensive and relatively large ships can carry a hyperspace engine.

When creating a new faction, give some details about it. You are not allowed to destroy the defenses of an enemys world in a single post.

Interstellar Wanderers:

Unknown to all the previous inhabitants of Earth, a small group of ambitious people set out on a journey into deep space, in order to explore the depths of the unknown. Although their two medium sized spacecraft were seen blasting off the surface of Earth in the year 2167, people did not question where they were going, or what they set out to achieve. The flow of traffic to and from space was casual business, and these two inconspicuous spacecraft were not given a second glance after they left the Solar System. Since these ships were relatively small, they only had power for 1 hyperspace jump each. After they reached a distance of 2 light years from the Oort Cloud at the edge of the Solar System, the captains of each of the two ships decided that they would go stay together and attempt to find a new home on a new planet somewhere isolated. Using powerful tractor beams to hold onto one another, the two spacecraft set their hyperspace engines to full power and leapt into the unknown. Where they arrived at, was a place where two stars were sharing each others gaseous material, and the planets that were orbiting the two stars in the centre therefore travelled in a very tight elliptical orbit that took each planet to perihelion once every 700 years. As a result, the ships landed on a planet that was only halfway through the cycle to perihelion, so they would have enough time to mine resources and grow in population. By the time the planet that the two ships had first landed on was almost at perihelion, all the surrounding planets had been completely mined and the population had grown enormously. A massive mothership was constructed in orbit around the largest planet, and all the smaller ships docked with it, and are now kept inside it. As a result, this mothership is now the 'home' or the entire race of the Interstellar Wanderers. The mothership blasted away from the twin star system with all it's resources at maximum level.

Ever since the captains of the two original ships died, their children have taken over the role. There are now 10 people in total that make up the small 'government' that reigns over this faction, anything they say goes. To reach an agreement, at least 6 people must agree on any one decision. There can not be a split decision on a subject, otherwise a massive poll will go out to the citizens of the mothership, and the population will decide by majority of vote.

The military side of the faction is focused entirely on deep space warfare. The advanced mining technologies and scouting capabilities of this faction are due to the time it spent mining the planets where the resources to build the mothership in the first place came from. Extensive research was also carried out on weapons technology, and as a result, this faction's mothership houses 5000 small fighters inside 20 assault carriers (these carry 250 small fighters each), 50 deep space gunship cruisers (that can lay waste to planets, and 10 battlecruisers designed to defeat swarms of enemy spacecraft in deep space combat. The total size of the spacecraft in this faction is only 5110, due to the time spent mining resources in order to build the spacecraft in the first place. This faction now moves from planet to planet, always investigating the cosmos, and never settling in one spot permanently.

Faction: Tanith

Philosophy towards war: Likes gurrila warfare style tactics eg sniping, ambushing, etc. Also a big fan of air power but has a reletivly small space fleet consisting of 4 battleships and a few fighter squads.

Current status: mecenries (eg our payment is a small amount of money/weapons/tech and smome or all of any planets they help conquer. However they have a sense of honour so will not fight for any one. We are likly to help races who have been unjustly atacked or help any cause we consider right.

History: Origianly occupied a reletivly small planet of the same name full of dense forests which gave them there aclaimed skill.

Star League Constitution

Formed after a convention in 3462, the SLC consists of 27 planets scattered across 9 solar systems. The government is chosen democraticly. There is also a Parlement elected by the people that do not have governmental power, but do have the power to observe all governmental activities and the power to relieve a politician of his position.

The army mainly consists of mechs up to 100 tons and infantry. The fleet of warships consists of 2500 battlecruisers and 500 fighter carriers.

Recently several families have risen that have declared themselves noble houses on 3 planets in the Trebalis system. The status of noble house is not approved by the government, and these houses have attempted to separate themselves from the Star League and form a faction of their own. No military actions have been taken against these people, but the Star League goverment observes their movement with increasing interest and fear.

But I'll start were I left in the previous thread.

3 months ago the Star Leagues capitol homeworld Tardison was attacked by forces under the banner of the leader of the largest house, Bertrand. Supported by a traitor admiral named Stukov, secretly his brother, he managed to destroy the government centre and establish a dictatorial dominion called the Federated Suns.

Captain Raynor, loyalist to the former Star League and commanding officer of the USS Sheppard, formed a resistance movement under the name Star League in Exile. The most significant military accomplishment of this rebel movement is the attack on the remote mining world Roburth IV. Many supplies were taken and 2 mobile shipyards hijacked.

Faction: Mortalick

Planets: 3 Planets, Xniker is the main, the other two are mining planets but population is growing, also 18 moons total.

Info: The Mortalick's live on the planet refered to as Xninker. These people build up vast militarys and train their soldiers extremely well. They have a decent size space armada considering they have one main planet and three moons. This factoin waits for wars to profit off of and jumps right in, with their extreme loyalty and bravery this makes it no wonder why there facation is one of the oldest.

In the gaint black as coal reaches of space, not near any planets, astoroid fields but close to a sun a Mortalick trading party moves closer to the faction Taniths main home planet in hopes of trading some of their ships if the Taniths are willing to, the round oval like ships creep closer to the Taniths planet, 2 posts and counting. Mcklain, the Captin sits in his command center of the ship. It was a round room with a gaint moniter in front of everyone and people scattering around tending to their computers. He remembers what the Duke said to him before he departed from his buetiful homeworld " These are valuable people, they know geurilla fighting better then anyone in the Imperiam, do not doubt them." Mcklain nodded and departed, he now tapped his foot, waiting for the ships to arrive in the automosphere of the Taniths home planet

A skinny faced man with black hair and green eyes came up on the screen starteling the now not bored Mcklain "We wish to know what you wish to trade for" Mcklains face smiled as a grin emerged from the corners of his lips "We have valuable materials and we can order ships, we wish to show you this if we can land on your landing field, do you accept?

We have rare woods, minerals, herbs and weapons to trade. You have our permission to land at our princaple space port here just outside Catachan. A ground car will pick you and your men up and bring you to my palace along a forest road. Ok?

As the trader's arrive Sly calls for examples of what we can trade. He asks Mcklain what he wishes to exchange for our goods other than space craft (he may buy space craft but we want to know of usefull or valuble minerals he may be offering).

We have a variety of space ships, but << Holds up picture of a long and large sword >>, we have these, looks what 35 pounds? Wrong there only 2 pounds thanks to special materials from out home planet, things can take a rocket launcher projectile head on and not shatter, perfect for shield to shield combat. Also, we have the Fynuk crystal, it emits huge waves of energy powering weapons or power plants. Followed by any iron, or other strong materials from our planet and a variety of ground vechicles, and hand guns

We buy a large ammount of the swords and a few small walker vechicles sutable for the dense terrain of woodland. Also he buys a few small arms for his personal armoury. In exchange we offer 2 tons of medicinal herbs, 2 tons of rare woods and a ton of a rare metal found only on Tanith which is not only light but durable and a good conductor and we use it for electric swords. Also we offer our free services for one mission if trade is done.

The trade is completed. As Mcklian gets into the ship he turns around and faces the leader of Tanith smiling and says in a birsk tone "Ready your troops Tanith, for the time will come for that one mission" he bows and goes into the ship as the door closes, they take off and suddenly the specs that were once ships dissppear off into the endless folds of space...

Description:Very honorable house,never use drugs or threats on people to get answers.Are very much in favor of heavily armed and fast Mechs.Planet,Kentares IV is currently in civil war with Lyran Opressors.Other 4 planets,Helios I,Kornat III,Yuri XI,and Corrino V,have had some rebel uprisings.

Luetnant Luther Fisk piloted his Rebel Daishi over the hills of Kentares IV,on a mission to destroy a convoy of Kentar supply vehicles.As he managed his Mech,he saw an orange speck in the distance.Soon the speck was a flaming fireball coming right at him."Bloody Mary in--" was all he managed to get out.Next thing he knew and heard,was a bright white light and a whistling of parts blowing off from his Mech in all directions.

House Thalix

The House is based upon the fundimentals of using military force whever they feel are needed, with 2 planets and 14 moons its easy to mine and for them to build weapons and train their men in great close combat fighting.

Trades: Close combat weapons, Space ships and ground vechicles.

Colonel Major Archer Christifori piloted his Banshee around the small fleet of rebel ships.He scanned the battlefield:the rebels were fighting with the Noble Davions,who were largely winning.He piloted his Banshee down,and launched one of his gravwell generators into the middle of a large group of rebels.There was a total silence for a second,then a large BOOM! as the shockwave exploded from the generator.The shockwave sent the whole company of rebel ships spinning out into space.Some were so affected that their systems shut down permanantley.This left only one option for the rebels:retreat,which most of them couldn't due to the wave.Archer smiled,and flew back into his the carrier.

The men run as fast as they could through the dense jungles, blurs of green flew by as they ran for their lives. John Smith, one of the rebels was swearing under his breath as he ran. Suddenly, the sky went black, and the little light that came through the forest turned black as Thalix battle cruisers zipped over firing many rounds of green plasma down upon the rebels, they screamed in agony as the beams cut through them. John started to run but was cut down, his body made a thump, as it hit the cold jungle floor. Thalix men came done finishing off any rebels left running away. The Kentar army getting ready to engage the unknown invades were surprised when a loud vioce boomed on their com speakers " This is LT. Johnsburg of the Thalix 4th division fleet, we come in peace, we offer assitence in taking care of the rebel scum plauging your planet. "

Archer steps forward."We accept your proposal for peace,and we accept your offer to help us destroy the Lyran loyalists.However,there will be limit of how many men you will be able to send to destroy the rebels.I propose the limit at 15,000 men,if you even send that much" ( ::) ::) ::) ).He sent 3 diplomats to see the Thalix leader.

Captain Raynor smiled. This was the first good thing that happened to him for a long time. Almost the Federated fleet in the Kentares system had temporarily been moved. By letting remaining ships doing extra patrolls they intended to make it appear there still was a sizable fleet, but Raynor wasn't easily fooled.

The ships moved to the shipdocks in the Roburth system for repairs. But those shipdocks had been taken by him and the system was in their hands- but nobody managed to inform the Federated Suns.

Now was their chance to eliminate a company of 500 enemy battlecruisers AND to assault the Kentares worlds, homeworlds of the noble houses.

Raynor had the USS Sheppard and 399 battlecruisers prepared for the attack on Kentares. Only 300 battlecruisers remain in the Roburth system to ambush the enemy ships, but those Federated ships weren't fully functional, plus they weren't expecting anything.

The scan of the asteroid belt has been completed. It is determined that mineral deposits lie on the largest asteroids on the outer edges of the belt. After a message has been sent back to the mothership, a fleet of mining vessels emerge from subhyperspace warp and settle down on the largest asteroids. Automatic robots begin drilling the rock and mining the ore. 10 posts left until the entire asteroid belt has been mined.
