sniper8080
Ok, I kinda a newbie at MoDing. How exactly do you create a new camo.(Like what kinda programs are good for it and where can I find them)
Frodo
for what, emperor or RA2?Adobe Photoshop, MGI PhotoSuite, Paint Shop Pro, and MSPhoto Editor are all good for both games.
nemafakei
I assume you mean the cameos, or icons. From the main site, you can download DuneEx 2, which can open the rfd/rfh files for you. In the 3ddata0001.rfh file is all the .tga files for textures (ignore the first few pages of stuff, they're .xbf files - difficult to use). Look for the TGAs with only the unit names: these are the icons. Open some of them, modify them, and save them in a new folder EmperorData3ddatatextures
sniper8080
Thanks. Sorry, I meant for Emperor. Nema i found the files but I don't have a program to edit them. :'( Could anybody point me towards a downloadable editor (if one exsists). Thanks again. Frodo
yeah try trial versions of neopaint and saint paint. Or you could use PhotoShop, MSPhotoEditor, MGIPhotoSuite, PaintShop Pro, or Uniview(doesn't edit much, better for conversions).
sniper8080
Thanks Fordo. As I type this I'm downloading a version. ;D Thank a ton. ;D

jacobdouds
bows. thank you.I find that program useful, but very hard to use compared to other paint programs. And, when you save, the save options are weird, and it makes a file called .xvpicsIt's odd, but it gets the job done.
Gobalopper
Its is *nix program originally so it probably kept a lot of the conventions, like .directory names, when it was ported to windows.
sniper8080
Hey. I downloaded PhotoSuite and a few others. I can finally make cameos. ;D Thanks again. While on the topic I would like to ask a few more questions.1)How do you add the new cameos?2)How (if possible) can I convert cameos from other games (ex: dune, Ra2 ....) to Emerpor. Thanks ;D

jacobdouds
Linux is better isn't it?And that would be? Mandrake?
Gobalopper
I use RedHat at work but not by choice, I would much rather use Windows XP. But that is for development, for things like running a server I would go with BSD or Linux.
jacobdouds
So, RedHat is good though? Cause i want a secondary OS on a partition to keep back-ups on.
