Sardauker-Kirov
What do you mean with"What was that about? "
Gunseng_Harkonnen
I think he asked why you said about Harkonnen brutality and Ordos sneakyness
Timenn
'Waar sloeg dat op!' I think he meant that, why you said that, a lost statement in a topic... The Dust Scout rush does only work when the enemy don't suspect one. Otherwise dust scouts stay good raiders to catch crates or single units... Virtugon
and they are good against infantry atacks
Black_Emperor
dust scout rush is useless if the enemy has any anti-vehicle units EX: Sardaukar, Trooper, AA Troopers, ect
IxianMace
Yeah, but even with anti-vehicle units the dust scouts overpower them with sheer numbers. They are quick to build, and cheap. Sarduakar take forever to train compared to the dust scout, (even with 3 Sarduakar Barracks). Infantry tend to be too delicate against dust scouts. Timenn
You don't have so many Sardaukar that quick, and (AA) Troopers are also not good because you can run away from the missiles so they don't hit you, and you had already killed some Troopers... Gunseng_Harkonnen
Prepare against dust scout rush your own rush with light units and some heaviest. Then you can face them and then its only depends on your skills. I often do early rushes...once I did rush with four units...okay it wasn`t "rush" but I ha-ha destroy base with it... Dezertfish
harkonnen flamers waste dust scouts. buzzsaws are okayAtreides monggoses are goodOrdos just counter withh their own rush
IxianMace
Flame tanks don't have much armor. Dust scouts can take them out in a few seconds, and the flame tank might only take out 2-3 dust scouts if they're lucky. Not a bad idea though. Gunseng_Harkonnen
Flame tanks rock only with infantry, I don`t like send them against vehicles. Usually I take assault tanks if dust scouts are coming.
Dezertfish
The advantages of falme tanks:1not slow2can aim 2 different directions at once3damages/destroys all units in line of fire4wastes infantry and light vehicles5can be built with only an upgraded factory6is a vehicleversus dust scouts=almost certain win
Calaban_emperor
Okay, this tactic works for ME most of the time.Build as much strong units as you can,get some air, place 2 or 3 machine gun turrets at the place where the dust scoutas are attacking and then back everything up with infantry.if that does not work, close your eyes, you don't want to see what happens ;)Oh and build some rocket turrets,it'll do you good ;)
cman
if u are ordos, then start making units fast and put "guardians" around your base (i would prefer kobras and sard elites) and watch the dust scouts fry.
Black_Emperor
if your harkonnen, why dont you just put up a lot of flame turrets and assult tanks. The flame turrets hurt the dust scouts badly and the assult tanks can kill em and take a lot of damage.
ken124578
a few lasertanks can kill that combination.
Black_Emperor
a lazer tank cant stand up to an assult tank
ken124578
it can.1. it has longer range.2. it is much faster.3. if its hit it only loses its shield which wil be regenerated.4. the assault tank turns slowly.5. its weapon is anti tank so the assault tank won't stand a big chance vs them. Sardauker-Kirov
1: Assault tank deals more damage and has better armor2: If a laser tank gets hit two times it is good as dead. 3: Laser tanks has more attraction strenght and attraction radius to worms.4: Laser tanks has shield's. Laser vs Shield = Holtzman effect. 5: Assault tanks backed up with Missile tank's are almost hard to remove. Esp if they have buzzsaws
