The War In Libya

Recommended Posts

I am also concerned that this may be a move against 'Islamic Socialism'. I'm not saying that Gadaffi is/was a good man, but he tried to bring some forms of Socialism to Libya. Now The West/NATO is suspiciously trying to get rid of him. I wonder really what is going on...of course The Media of the The West is not asking any real questions, even though The UK may be bringing in some ground troops.

Well, if John McCain says it's all right, then The War in Libya must be just 'fine and dandy'. Normally, the hothead from Arizona would be turning beet red and huffing-and-puffing about Congressional protocol, but the fix is in from the Military-Industrial Complex on this one. But hey, if a nation spends a trillion dollars a year on 'Defense' equipment and manpower, it has to be used, or it is just wasted money.

How can we get out of this war when all Arab Uprising was prepared and financed by the West?

No, no, no. That is ridiculous. Why would the West fund and support revolutions directed against loyal pro-Western dictators who had been in power for decades, like in Tunisia and Egypt? The regime of Hosni Mubarak was the second-largest recipient of American foreign aid (after Israel). The US would not just randomly decide to overthrow its own best friend.

No, he did not. Gadaffi is a political chameleon. In his long career, he has stood both for and against almost every imaginable political idea. First he was a pan-Arabist, then he came up with the so-called "Islamic Socialism," then he de-emphasized it in favour of supporting separatist movements everywhere (especially "terrorist" ones), then he became a pan-Africanist, and since 2004 he has embraced neoliberalism, privatization, and the "War on Terror."

And besides, just listen to what he says - the man is clearly insane.

Despite the propaganda, the islamic socialism of Gheddafi is a real thing and seems to be present in the country.

Still in 2009 he proposed to nationalise all oil in Lybian soil.

He doesn't like one of the most capitalistic country too: Switzerland. For some reason he proposed to divide Switzerland in three parts giving them to Germany, Italy and France.

They had to, to prevent events. The people would revolt anyway, the West had to find a way to manipulate the revolts so they could guarranty that the new leaders would be their friends too or at least not their enemies.

I think that the The West likes to try to control the events through the manipulations of parliaments and legislatures. As was posted before, Khadafi had threatened to nationalize the entire Libyan oil industry. In the eyes of the West, that is completely unacceptable and represents a total loss of investment monies.

Now that we are sending in predator drones, it won't be long now that Khadafi is gone. On to Syria with the 6th Fleet!

Separatistas reprimen manifestaciones de apoyo al Gobierno libio en Benghazi

From Google translate I got out that the revolutionary forces in Libya are not far different from the dictators:

Media censored and web pages blocked.

Protests violently suppressed.

So the 'revolution' is finally just a new dictatorship, this time appointed by the West.

You got that right, ath--. Meanwhile, The West/NATO is going to get all of the 'credit'. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't start saying that Obama is the 'George Washington' of the Middle East, for his support of democracy.
