After many years away from the game I am interested in returning and was wondering what would be the best way to get the game and play it online? Should i download a copy, will that be able to play online? Or is the only way to purchase the original cd? Also i know there is game ranger and hamachi to play online. D2k Sardaukar Posted March 9, 2010 Share Posted March 9, 2010 You can download gruntlord's dune 2000 installer for new windows versions. It is somewhere hidden in a support forum... if I'm right. D2k Sardaukar Posted March 9, 2010 Share Posted March 9, 2010 Perhaps someone who plays more often online, can help you more, I don't play that often online.From my little online experience I know that there are not that many people playing online, so it's hard to find them.There is a topic about hamachi networks, but I have no idea how real those things are. GameRanger might be a better change, but last time I looked there, there were not many people. I guess your best bet to play online is to get a friend to install the game and try it over a LAN or, if he/she is far away, on hamachi. I downloaded hamachi 1.05 yesterday with some help and was playing with a few people on dune2000 tcp-ip, just like old times :)Is that where most people play? Digit@l Posted March 25, 2010 Share Posted March 25, 2010 You may try to play via GameRanger service - http://www.gameranger.com/All you need is this tiny client & Dune2k ver. 1.02 (you may download it here http://netload.in/dateiqNKvDeo5zk.htm no need to install, without videoclips, so it's only 50 Mb in archive) cause GR don't support 1.06 at the moment.It's strange that you can't even log in to Hamachi (may be there was a server maintenance or something like that), cause it's basic ver. is free. Remember that you have to download 1.0.1.5 Hamachi ver (you may download it here http://filehippo.com/download_hamachi/2114/) to play multiplayer game in Dune2k via Hamachi.
