they pretty much suck except what? the kobra, sabotaur, and the deviator. The harkonnen flamethrowers have longer range than a chem, no one cares about the dust scouts "dig in the dirt" ability, AA troops dont hurt as much as Hark Troops and do more damage to airborne "how many planes do ppl usually use other than carryalls and what...4 gunships/onis?, and the atredies kunjas do more damage than the morters

Kobra is strong if you know how to handle it.

The Saboteur sucks indeed (Engineer is more affective)

The Deviator kicks ass on enemy harvesters and rushes(while moving)

Chem-Trooper is better vs armor, the dust scouts are escpecially in the beginning very strong and effective vs infantery

AA Troopers have a quicker rate of fire. (They have less time needed to initiaze their weapons and fire when they have a target)

EITS is good when the enemy forgets about AA

Mortars have a longer range and can fire on cliffs...

All: Ordos are good, but you need to know at what points...

Rather, what situations make which units useless? Every unit has its purpose and shines in certain situations. You'd be dumb to send Chem troopers against Flame tanks - send Laser tanks instead or if it is a lone Flame tank, several AA troopers.

Some favourable situations:

The saboteur is a deterrant to overruning vehicles and a very efficient way of taking down lots of windtraps in a farm quickly, provided it can get a clear run (e.g. build a barracks after capturing an enemy structure and produce Saboteurs to quickly take down buildings). EITS groups are one of the quickest ways of killing an enemy, provided you can remove enemy AA and you have money. Mortar genocide infantry and light vehicles, especially if used in groups and the enemy sends large groups of units. Even more effective if you can provide obstacles (e.g. Chem troopers, saboteurs) to slow them down to get hit by the Mortar shells. Laser tanks can handle just about any vehicle when micromanaged properly and with a lot of space. AA troopers have a much better chance at hitting aircraft and very fast vehicles. Dust scouts are deadly early-rush units due to speed and regeneration, and with guard order off, can be accumulated in dust bowls without being detected, not even by scouts. Deviators spell doom to defences with Minotauruses, Sonic Tanks, Kobras or Devastators. Even AA mines have their uses (see my thread).

Black_Emperor, go into detail about "as a fact, at least half of their units are useless". Go through each unit that you consider useless and state why. Also go through the "useful" units of the other Houses and what makes them "useful", especially against Ordos.

Just like every unit of "every" House. Oh yeah Timenn? I thought Gas was effective against infantry instead of Armour  ;D

Did they make an New "mix"  ( Sandworm killer  :O )

Heh heh.

Anyways, I think the Ordos are very effective. Much more effective then the Atreides i supose.
