Timenn
It's fun to hide them, but almost nobody uses that function
Gunseng_Harkonnen
I rarely hide them in the sand. I didn`t do it at all in campaign, only now in skirmish.
ken124578
dustscoutsin dust bowls r very handy for the enemy doesn't know wtf is there.you could also do this: an enemy assault comes close, you attack with the dustscouts and the retreat in the bowl again. Dante
Aren't the little guys just wonderful? I love Dust Scouts, they're better than Scouts, cheap and fast to produce, can hide in times of trouble as long as a Dust Bowl is nearby...And they make the SWEETEST little squeaking noises! :D
Gunseng_Harkonnen
I agree they can be good. They were great against Tleilaxu in this mission when Tleilaxu attacked Ordos homeworld.
Timenn
Hmm, does the guard mode work when they have cloaked themselfes? I was wondering, never test it...
Dante
You mean if an enemy unit is nearby will it attack? Not sure, I think the enemy needs to be almost on top of it before it stirs itself from the sand.
jacobdouds
Gaurd does work. But there range is impaired by the edge of the dustbowl. so they have to be pretty close to the enemy unit.

Sardauker-Kirov
Yes and what are you trying to say with this?*Senses offtopic approach*Anyways for the Dust scouts. I use the Dustbowl when the enemy is attacking with laser tanks or some other speedy unit that can damage the dust scout massively.
XenofeX
It took him about 40 minutes to find my dustie ::)
Timenn
Hmm, can scouts not see the Dust Scouts in Dust Bowls? But have that link to be so long. the whole page got screwed up ;)

Dante
hiding scouts in dust bowls is a nasty thing 8)...It is, isn't it? ;DWhat else is good, is If you're playing on a level with dust bowls or not, it if you hit a crate with a Dust Scout and they turn camouflaged. They're small, so they can then sneak past the enemy and into the base instead of just hiding. Admittedly this doesn't happen very often, but it's useful when it does. XenofeX
Thx Gobalopper :)Dust_Scout, You mean cloaked Dustie?
Black_Emperor
still, what can 1 cloaked dust scout do to a base?
ken124578
you should ask: what can a cloaked dustscout do to an enemy attack DAMAGE and he doesn't get killed if the enemy doesn't watch his troops.
Sardauker-Kirov
Unless if the enemy has some missile tanks or Mongoose and other verhicles that can track or instant hit the enemy. The Dustscout uncloaks. Missile tank turn's around and fires at the Dust scout. Missiles hit and boom goes the dust scout.
ken124578
but do you babysit your missile tanks?do you babysit your assault?

Timenn
A cloaked dust scout is not so rare, the chance of invisibility in a crate is quite big, and a dust scout is quick, and you can use them often to seek for crates. But cloaked one are not so useful, because they hardly do damage to buildings.
