help with upgread ..

Recommended Posts

I asked a person on a different forum who is in Egypt and this is his reply:

We have a computer center in every street , latest technology come to Egypt little bet late like 2 or 3 months , so only professionals suffer this , newbies and average users can not feel it at all

When I need some part that is world wide brand new technology I buy it online and within 48 hrs. it is in my hands of course this cost extra money for shipping and credit card tax -about 25%-

There is a website http://www.pcegypt.com/ to check for latest in Egypt , what you cant find here you will have to buy online .....

Hope it helps...

yes there is 1000s of computer centers but they are not hardware shops ..

they tend to fix 20 years old infected pcs that most guys here use for chatting and surfing

for porn .. you may find a keyboard there or an optical  mouse but nothing more important

their main business is installing pirated s/w starting with windows and games and music and u name it

no one here buy anything ... or they sell you a 1 gig old intell celeron pc which they

build for preteen girls so they can chat and install msn ohh maybe play 10mb games like dune 2

or prince of Persia 1

no one in Egypt plays any games and if you dont believe me search for any known game server in Egypt

you wont find any ... so no one knows what a geforce 9600 is coz they dont need it ...

i deal with a very professional hardware provider and we are not newbies in anyway my

current out dated pc is still the best computer in around 50 kilometers lol

if he cant find the parts i want no one will ...

the new technology's he is talking about is for office pcs and calenders  not a 8800gts

honestly 2 years ago that guy went over town to buy me an old 6600gt and he didnt find ..

about buying online he may be right but i dont have the skills to do that and i dont

have a credit card .. i think this guy already  selling stuff ...

about that web i dont seem to be able to surf it or find anything ill try more and let u know

I don't think there is much difference in quality in ram brands. However I did read that Kingston is good at over clocking.

There are huge differences in the quality/speed of RAM.You can buy memory specific for gaming oroverclocked whatever the need may be.

For example Kingston has value ram which is basic memory or Hyper X memory. It has to do with the timings, bufferings, voltages etc.

And spicy the RAM you chose is not better than what I Just got.

Corsair specs---

Speed  DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Cas Latency 5

Timing         5-5-5-18

Heat Spreader Yes

Features with DHX Technology

A Data specs----

Speed  DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

Cas Latency 5

Timing         5-5-5-18

Voltage 1.8V

Heat Spreader Yes

Recommend Use High Performance or Gaming Memory

I showed you that because they are basically the same, only 1 costs more. But thats just me I guess I like saving cash. Why blow it when you don't have to.

By being practically the same I'm referring to the specs. of the 2 not the sizes of them. Well I got mine together and for the first time ever I can now play BF2 with all high max. setts. Freakin awseome with this 20" flat screen like a whole new game.No lag anywhere, and the loading screen even loads way faster. This card also came with a very nice overclocking utility and software. But I haven't done any overclocking yet there's no need to.I'm not even gonna need that upgraded vid card yet at all, this one does just fine on it's own.I thought this card would just be a little card to get me by for a while but wrong I was...damn thing kicks ass. If I had bought an Sli board I would buy another one of these in a heartbeat.

  • 1 month later...

this time i want a strong system that will last  at least 5 years

who doesn't want a system like that? those system will never exist! we are talking about pcs here... the playstation 2 survived for over 7 years games are still being produced but even the best up to date game on this system (god of war 2) which pushes the console to its limits looks like crap compared to current pc games. don't get me wrong, I love this game, you just can't compare it to any game for the pc of the last 1-2 years.

A 8800GTS is almost 2 generations old now even before you have bought it. There's already a 9x series and the next gen of nvidia videocards will be launched on 15th of june.

Ati will soon also launch their new 48xx series. I think the new Nvidia will be the performance monster, but with a high price tag and the ati with the best price-performance ratio. But it's not sure, we will have to wait for the (game) benchmarks. Although one thing is quite sure, there (is) will be a price battle.

Hello,

I just bought my new PC, I think you will find it interesting.

CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

MB MSI P35 Platinum

VGA Asus 8800GT 512MB

RAM Kingston dual channal DDRII 800Mhz (Kit of 4go with two matched 2go sticks)

PSU Antec Truepower 550W

TWR Antec P182

DISK Samsung DVD-RW etc etc SATA

HDD system Seagate 7200.10 250go 16mb SATA

HDD data samsung spinpoint F1 750go 32mb SATA

I think I got it all.

Since I change my pc every year I don't buy high end parts, only mid end ones.

Then I overclock my PC the whole year (always running day and night like a server) and sell it after a year (I restore original clocks before reselling).

All the people I sold my previous pc's so far have them running since multiple years, so I guess for other people this pc could last 5 years with some upgrading.
