gunner154
Wasn't Tiberian Sun before EA bought them over?
Kirby Gotenks absorbed
Cash cows, guys. I guess we can stop looking forward to the future of C&C.EA are Cash Cow herders.Heh, I'll buy KW and RA3 regardless, just because I like Command and Conquer.Would you buy a RA game if they said it was the worst game in the world on the front cover? gunner154
Nope. I'm not touching the C&C Universe. The last game was Generals and I've regretted it ever since. I'd consider the last truly C&C game to be Red Alert 2 but even that doesn't really cut close, on hindsight...
Sneakgab
''Wasn't Tiberian Sun before EA bought them over?''Regardless IMO it wasn't very good. Many people seemed to like it though, so I guess that is indicative of the effects of EA's involvement. Ie: when EA is not involved WW makes games that are at least decent. Why did WW sell themselves to EA anyway. Surely after dune 2, C&C and RA, they couldn't have been doing that badly. Was it just a matter of even more money, since I suppose EA would pay for the publishing and the like now. Still, if EA owns WW, then wouldn't that mean that they would reap the lion's share of the profits from WW games?
gunner154
Tiberian Sun was on and off an okay game for me, though it pales in comparison to the earlier 2 games.

MrFlibble
I think I'll still get C&C3 and RA3 plus addons, when I've upgraded my PC to run them decently. Which will not be before StarCraft II comes out... ::)
Dunenewt
Westwood Studios were sold by Virgin Interactive to EA.
MrFlibble
We shall never forget Westwood and its marvelous accomplishments in game development. Forever grateful we will be for the endless hours of joy they gave us :)

Dunenewt
Would you buy a RA game if they said it was the worst game in the world on the front cover?Yes, as long as it was still Command and Conquer. Would probably just stick it on the shelf to gather dust though.
Sneakgab
This suggests that Virgin Interactive and EA are (or at least were) of a different nature. Ie: that while WW was under VI they were still making good games whilst a transition to EA seems to have quickly altered this.
Dunenewt
Yup pretty much. EA made WW rush games out before they were ready, especially in the case of Emperor, which still had many unfinished features.
Kirby Gotenks absorbed
Would you buy a piece of feces/excrement if it said "COMMAND AND CONQUER+RED ALERT BONUS PACK CR@P!!!" on it?
Dunenewt
Depends if it could be installed on my laptop.
MrFlibble
The thread about an upcoming game has devolved into discussion of feces... Would you blame EA for that? :P
Dunenewt
The problem with RA3 to me, is that it looks no more fancy than some of the mods out there for TW.

gunner154
Would you buy a piece of feces/excrement if it said "COMMAND AND CONQUER+RED ALERT BONUS PACK CR@P!!!" on it?That sounds a lot like Generals.

Kirby Gotenks absorbed
EA are losers, but having hope is good (I mean I have hope of mewtwo in .Brawl, so you should hope too!). :D
Dunenewt
Actually, with the amount of profit they make, I'd say EA are winners, and we're the losers in this case.
gunner154
But where money is NOT concerned... it's quite the opposite, I'd say.
Dunenewt
Empire of the Rising Sun:"These guys are the most sci-fi - mixing samurai, robot culture, anime, manga, all sorts of cool stuff. We've also taken a little bit of Japanese military uniforms from WWII and blended them - it was an important to find a way of making them work together as one faction. You'll see dragonfly-type ships and other bugs in there too. We spent some time in Japan taking reference photos, and we're all big fans of Japanese popular culture."~ Matt Britton, RA3 Art Director
