Tutterup
I have installed and patched Emperor: Battle for Dune to the latest version. Using the XWSIC tool, I am able to play on the XWIS server, but not RA's server. When I set RA's server on the XWSIC tool (I type in the server IP, press set, and then they both become that IP) and press Test, it frezzes and crashes. I have tried both methods of getting onto th RA server, but both of failed. Like I said though, XWIS works fine but nobody is online. My host file looks something like this after it is set to RA's server.127.0.0.1 localhost72.13.63.187 irc.westwood.com72.13.63.187 servserv.westwood.comCan someone please help?Thx
Voodoo Daddy
Well, Nunu is better at this stuff then I am, but it looks like you got the wrong numbers. In the top box type one of the following numbers-RA1024 SERVER 72.17.137.93XWIS server 195.13.63.187 It looks like you managed to get a combination of the two. For Ra's server don't worry about the test. Just hit set then launch the game and see what happens.
Tutterup
I set the correct number for RA's server. When I press login, it briefly says "Downloading Channels", then immidiately says "Bad Password". I know the password is correct.Any Ideas?
Voodoo Daddy
We had this issue with XWIS a while back, They started requiring strong passwords. I don't know if it applies to Ra's server or not, but you could try this.Make a strong password using combinations of letters and numbers.ExampleStrong = 13r7b865Weak = bobLet us know if this helps. Tutterup
Unfortunatly, the same problem occurs. It's like XWSIC doesn't even recognise the server. I still think that there might be something wrong with my host file though.(Set at RA's server)127.0.0.1 localhost72.17.137.93 irc.westwood.com72.17.137.93 servserv.westwood.com
erjin999
So having corrected the IP for RAs, it still crashes the XWISC tool when you hit TEST ?Try making another new nick and password combo.Has your serial been used by anyone else by any chance ?Finally, do you have any firewalls running while trying this ?
