WorldEater
I installed Windows XP Home edition about 6 months ago (wiped the drive also), and I tried to install Emperor, Battle for Dune, about a week ago, and now it will not install/run right. It gets all the way to the end of installing (the 0%-100% thing) then dies. I know the disc works because I just installed it on a computer that has win 95, and it worked great. What can I do? gryphon
have you tried to copy the CD's to your harddrive first and then installing Dune emperor ?
Necroticon
You can do that? ???that would give faster load times, too, if im not mistaken.
gryphon
yep. . it will speed up the gameload. Pesonally I try to play with no-cd patches if possible..
erjin999
Try this link...its the install fixhttp://www.dune2k.com/?page=files-emperor&show=patchesIt comes with instructions. As for the no-cd it is worth using. Not sure how it affect the movies in game (it doesnt ask for the CDs, so maybe it doesnt load the movies ?). But if you dont mind the movies possibly being missing, then using no-cd is the way to go.I think there is nothing wrong with posting a site from where you can get the no-cd patch for 1.09. If there is I will not post it otherwise I can post the website address. I will wait for someone to give me the nod, maybe (preferrably) Gobalopper himself ! Make shure it's not a warez site of any other kind. And mind that it should be just a no-cd patch and not a file enabeling you to play without a legal cd with the side effect of being a no-cd patch. erjin999
Hehehe, thanks gryphon. Its a reasonably respectable site - most people would know of it. Gamecopyworld.com.It is not a warez site as far as i can tell.the direct link to the no-cd patch is http://66.79.179.19/ep/Emperorv1.09nocd.exe thats the 1.09. You still need a legit serial key to play online. This is ONLY to save finding the CDs you already own time after time !
gryphon
It is not a warez site as far as i can tell.you mean you missed the links to Game KeyGenerators on the link for gamefixes you had in your post .. ;)I used gamecopyworld to get a NoCO patch for Yuri's revenge and Ghost Recon...so I know the stite and think a lot of others do to as you have mentioned. For now I have just edited your post so the link to the gamefixes and keygenerators isn't in there anymore. People can still use www.Gamecopyworld.com and the direct link for the Emperor NoCD fix.. . :)
erjin999
I usually use gamecopyworld.com, and thats where I got the no-cd for emp from. I noticed a while ago that it was not there anymore, but it is available on the other site. Not being a frequent visitor to that other site, I assumed (wrongly ?) that it is similar to gamecopyworld.com. ::)Ah, thanks for fixing the post anyway dude. :)
gryphon
it's sort of simular .. got all the porn adds and such. . just with the addition that besides no-CD patches you can easy get serial numbers and generators from the other site in your post. :)
Necroticon
I always thought you couldnt play online with "no cd" patches...
gryphon
it works for both Ghost Recon and Yuri's revenge upto this day for me. . about other games I can only confirm it was possible. . .and most likely will still be posible ....
erjin999
You can play online with noCD patches so long as the serials legit (well Emperor, anyway !). The noCD only removes the cd checks. You may be thinking of an illegal copy, or a cracked/serial'ed game, that would not be playable online. Me thinks. :P
gunner154
Sorry for digging this thread up, but I am installing Emperor on a laptop so that I don't need to bring the CDs (the problem is SEE-DEESSSSsssss) and I would like to do without them. Thus, I'm getting the no cd-crack as recommended.I would be planning to transfer all the necessary files (or combining the Dialog files) using BagTool. Basically, I can run the campaigns fine without the CD, or so I think.I figure I wouldn't be able to get past the movies. Is there a way to disable the movies?Edit: This isn't what I was looking for. It requires me to copy entire CDs into folders! I just want to bypass the cd-check.Edit: Problem solved. It actually skips movies and doesn't need me to copy stuff. erjin999
If emp cannot find any extra files, like the movies or music, it just skips them. So to skip the movies, delete them ( or don't copy them in the first place). If you don't copy the contents of the 4 cds to HD, it just doesnt fin/use them, as you have dicovered. The NoCD Patch. What would we do without it ? :P
