Gobalopper
Start Emperor and you should automatically log into the XWIS server.
Elite47
everything is the same... now i cant even log onto WOL tho...so all im supposed to do is download it, extract it, run it and run emperor?? whats going on then??
Gobalopper
All the program does is change the server for WOL. Instead of going to WOL you goto the XWIS server. It looks the same but chat is enabled and usually more people are online. If you want to go back to using WOL just hit the reset button in the program. You only need to run the program once each time you want to change your server, it doesn't have to be running while you play.

Gobalopper
When you click the open button in the XWIS program does the hosts file show this line?62.216.18.38 servserv.westwood.com
Atomic Mitten
Make sure your Internet connection is open, then start the XCL app, click on the set button, then start Emperor. When you get on the XWIS server your buddie list will be empty, otherwise it looks exactly the same as the WOL screen. To go on WOL server, exit Emperor back to the first start up screen, then open XCL again and click on reset,re-connect to WOL and you should be on WOL server again. Kyle
you need help getting onto the xwis server...i'm assuming...well all you need to do is download the server application...run the program and click set...then when you log in you will be logged onto xwis instead of wol. Then if you want to go back to wol, you simply need to run the program again and hit reset... 8)

Kyle
the server app doesn't have to be running ???...once you click set you can close the application and you're on the xcc server...and to go back to westwood online you run the app again and click reset... Atomic Mitten
Hitting the "SET " button in the XWIS app just sets a different IPA in your windows hosts file, when you log in to a multiplayer game, game exe locates your hosts file and uses the address it finds for Emperor. When you click on re-set it just sets it to the original Westwood IPA againIt does not have to be running, you are confusing it with XCL proxy app, which reports games to the D2K Ladder, that one used to have to be running in the background,as it then reports a game to the d2k server.Pretty obvious really.
