gryphon
Is it a normal installation of Homeworld or have you installed any MOD's with it ?And did it always do that or just started to. If it is a new thing. . have there been any changes to your system ?
mechadragon
Game of the Year edition is just a rerelease. It includes the soundtrack and v1.05 patch on a CD as well as the Prima strategy guide. So what applies to one applies to the other.Make sure that you have the v1.05 patch installed. If you already have that, try to switch between DirectX and OpenGL renderers in the video configuration and see if the problem still persists. You can find the patch here:ftp://ftp.sierra.com/pub/sierra/homeworld/updates/si_homeworld_update_105.exe
Terror
i don't think it's a driver problem, as this only happens at mission 8. But i agree, install the 1.05 patch, and see if it works, if not, reinstall the game (a file may be corrupt) and patch it and try it again
mechadragon
I'm not thinking a driver problem, but an invalid call to the OpenGL API. It's a stab in the dark really, but I seem to recall something similar happening to me. It seemed to be addressed with one of the patches, which I had failed to apply on this particular install. gryphon
If it should be a problem with OpenGL. . can you change the grafics settings to try it with direct hardware support or something besides OpenGL ?
DukeLeto
Do you have XP? Homeworld is very finicky about XP. Even on the official forums, they have seemingly simple problems lke this that no one can seem to fix.As for as advice goes, could you post your DXDiag? THat would haelp a lot. Terror
I played most homeworld missions (up till 15 or something) and never had any issues. What's mission 8 about again?
