I recently installed the GruntsMod edition of Dune2k, in hopes that it would be easier than attempting to run the original ISO or find some kind of Abandonware varient of the original program. However, upon initial launch the game only displays a black screen. I've tested it in several resolutions with several different settings without any success. I've also attempted running the Executable directly from the directory to no avail. I have noticed however that when I press the escape key on my keyboard the in-game music starts to play. however the game doesn't display anything at all. Hopefully someone can help me solve this issue; I was really looking forward to playing this game. -
I downloaded gruntmod's Dune 2000 and everything installed properly and the menu and multiplayer hub work without problem. But when I select "Launch Campaign" or launch a mission the screen goes black and I get an error message reading: SetDisplayMode returned -2147467263 [ gGameticks = 0 ] I have a Gigabyte Brix running Windows 7 and a Nvidia graphics card and I know it's enough to run this game. But after trying different compatibility modes and messing with the preferences on DUNE2000.exe like the support and troubleshooting sections of the manual said, nothing changed. No sound, no images, no game. My DPI is at the default setting 100% so I know that isn't the problem. Please help me figure this out. I love this game and want to play it so much.
