A few years ago the Eastern Coal states imported steam locomotives from China. There are a few videos of then pulling East Coast coal trains on the net.
In one, it was stated that an up to date steam locomotive in general service could out perform diesel locos and by burning coal was cheaper to operate.
I wonder if that was true.

I know that the Knox, Kane, and Kinzua had one but that RR is gone now.
The KKK? It probably had a marketing problem.
In a free society, the most local level of government is the individual citizen.
