IMPORTANT!! - Before you do the following you should know this!
EMPEROR is no longer supported by EA. It is kept alive by the members here and all the people who still play.
YOU WILL NOT FIND THE SERVER FULL 24/7!
Most games are played in the evenings E.S.T. USA. The Best way to play is to set up a game using MSN

TO PLAY ON A SERVER:
1.) Download Server Utility here (works for RA1024 or XWIS server) ---> http://xwis.net/downloads/XWISC.exe
2.) Unzip it....
3.) Run it.....
4.) Enter the ip address listed below in to the TOP field of the program, and hit SET button.
5.) After hitting the SET button both top and bottom fields should be the same.

NOTE: If you are running Vista you must change the permissions on the Hosts file in order for the XWIS tool to work.
Go to C/windows/system32/drivers/etc
Right click on the Hosts file-select properties.
Select the Security Tab.
Under group or user names select(highlight) users, click on the Edit button.
Under the allow column select all except the last one(special permissions)
Click apply and then OK until your out.

Now close the program and start up Emperor: Battle for dune..... type in a name and password... and PLAY
